HG Social legal
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how HG Social, operated by Heaviside Group LLC (“Heaviside,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, stores, and protects information when people visit this website or connect social accounts to HG Social.
Information we collect
We collect information that users provide to create or use an HG Social account, such as name, email address, workspace membership, support requests, and content or media submitted for publishing.
When a user authorizes a social platform connection, we may receive an account identifier, display name, avatar, profile link, account statistics, public video or post metadata, authorization tokens, and publishing status information. The exact information depends on the platform and the permissions the user approves.
TikTok data
HG Social uses TikTok Login Kit and the TikTok Content Posting API. With a TikTok user’s authorization, HG Social may access basic profile information to identify the connected account and may send user-selected content to TikTok as a draft or direct post. If separately authorized, HG Social may also read profile details, account statistics, or the user’s public video list so those features can be displayed inside the user’s workspace.
HG Social does not publish to a TikTok account unless an authorized user selects content and initiates or schedules that publishing action.
How we use information
- Authenticate users and maintain authorized social account connections.
- Display the correct account and workspace.
- Create, review, schedule, upload, and publish user-selected content.
- Show publishing status and permitted account or content information.
- Provide support, protect the service, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
We do not sell connected social account data. We do not use TikTok user data for third-party advertising, and we do not use it to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
When information is shared
Information may be transmitted to the social platform selected by the user to perform the requested connection or publishing action. We may also use infrastructure, hosting, database, security, and support providers that process information for us under appropriate restrictions. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transaction subject to applicable legal protections.
Storage, security, and retention
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and encrypted network connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
We retain account and connection information only while needed to operate HG Social, maintain the authorized connection, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Publishing content and logs may be retained for workspace history and support. Users may disconnect a social account through HG Social or revoke access through the social platform.
Your choices and requests
You may decline a platform permission, disconnect an account, or revoke access through the connected platform. To request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with HG Social, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify the request and may retain information when required or permitted by law.
Children
HG Social is intended for business users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Other services and policy changes
Connected social platforms have their own terms and privacy practices. This policy does not control those third-party services. We may update this policy as HG Social changes; the date above identifies the latest version.
HG Social also operates under the broader Heaviside Group Privacy Policy.
